Why did the turtle cross the road?
To get to a shell station.
Okay…well we may not have “Gopher Tortoises” in central New Jersey, but still…this is the time of year where you will see turtle crossings. Help them out when you can (always take them across to safety in the same direction they were heading.) And always use caution! We saw this snapper along the side of the road, but luckily she didn’t need our help. She was very big!
Unlike this little cutie. He was spotted along a trail on the Mount Rose Preserve trails. I am thinking he is a baby red-eared slider.
That’s all for now!
